World-leading off-site manufacturer Vision Volumetric to deliver 424 student beds
Tide Construction has secured a resolution to grant planning permission for a new purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development in Southall, West London.
In partnership with its sister company, Vision Volumetric, Tide will deliver the 23-storey building comprising 424 new student beds. Located just two minutes from Southall station, the scheme will significantly contribute to the area’s housing requirements by freeing up traditional housing currently in use by students, as well as its ongoing regeneration.
Utilising Tide and Vision’s volumetric technology, which can reduce construction programmes by up to 50% compared to traditional methods, the scheme is set to be completed and ready for occupancy by the start of the 2026 academic year. It will replace the existing vacant commercial buildings with demolition due to begin shortly.
Formation Architects have designed the scheme with a focus on providing modern, well-equipped living spaces tailored to meet student needs. Sustainability is at the heart of the development with its energy efficient design, construction methodology and car free nature. Communal indoor and outdoor amenity spaces will also be available on multiple levels to foster student interaction and wellbeing.
