Two buildings – of eight storeys and 17 storeys respectively – house 802 student rooms, rising above a basement and podium structure that covers the entire site. This contains a two-storey leisure centre and 25m pool, as well as gyms, fitness studios and other student amenities.

The entrance to the 2,500m2 leisure centre helps to animate the Wembley streetscape while the roof of the podium has been designed as a landscaped recreation area.

Mix of materials

The building is clad in a number of materials including brick slip, aluminum cladding, render and glass-reinforced concrete. These facade treatments were applied using mast climbers after the modules were installed. The external areas also include a variety of finishes, including brick and stone paving, seating and amenities, and extensive green roof finishes.
