Canterbury Student Manor

Tide developed and delivered this courtyard residence in just 12 months, adding nearly 400 student rooms to one of the UK’s major university cities.

Canterbury Student Manor consists of 386 student rooms – a mix of studios and clusters of en-suite bedrooms with generous amenity, in five buildings arranged around a secluded courtyard.

It was developed and built by Tide, who asset-managed the investment before selling to Deutsche Finance, funded by Deustche Bank.

The development occupies a picturesque site on the banks of the River Stour, so sensitive selection of materials and architectural design were paramount. Red brick cladding was specified to reflect the local vernacular, while the garden landscape links all buildings and facilities into a dynamic, flowing space.

Certainty inbuilt

As a student development, fast delivery was critical as any delay in construction would have set the scheme back for an entire academic year.
