Battersea Power Station Marketing Suite

Installed just below the famous chimneys, Tide’s glazed rooftop show apartment was a key element of the £9bn mega project’s marketing strategy.

This bespoke marketing suite was erected directly on top of an annex structure of the iconic Battersea Power Station. It included a show apartment, designed and delivered with the highest quality finishes to market the huge £9bn redevelopment of the Grade II-listed structure and surrounding area. The project was completed to a 12-week programme.

Project summary

The project comprised glazed volumetric units on a structural platform base, and was cleverly designed to capture the drama of what life would be like once the restoration of the celebrated building would be completed.

Rooflights framed soaring views of the iconic chimneys, while a landscaped terrace with glazed balustrades offered a sweeping panorama of the Thames. Visitors arrived via a lift tower from ground level and a link bridge that connected to the suite; there were also two further escape stairs with connecting bridges.

Bringing new energy to Battersea

Battersea Power Station is one of London’s most ambitious regeneration projects. Designed by Giles Gilbert Scott, the coal-fired power station was originally opened in the 1930s, before being decommissioned in 1983. When the redevelopment of the 42-acre site is complete, it will be one of the city’s largest office, retail, leisure and cultural quarters, with 25,000 people living and working there. The power station itself now contains over 100 shops, 46,000m² of offices and 254 apartments.
